I've driven through to explore the camp sites and cabins w/o any need to register/pay, etc. There may be a limit on the number of cars parked at a site, but I saw sites with more than two cars on them. I'd say don't worry about it...
I believe it is free I had family come up and visit me they didn't mention having to pay anything although we were in the cabin lane
