Not advisable to swim in canals or at boat ramps...if the boat traffic dosent hurt you the gators, sharks, sting rays or just plane stagnant water isnt good in the canals. Lots of animals breed in canals due to the warm water. I saw a gator one canal over from horton just last week aug 2019... there are designated fishing areas. Once you get into the river you can use a tube behind a boat and jetskis are of course allowed to be launched from this ramp. Stated another way i am not sure what you expect from a boat launch/ramp but there are no slides fountians or water play areas there is a dry playground/park, benches, fishing areas, and a large lawn to walk on hope that helps. The other boat launches should be considered similar.....
I didn't see any signs that said it's not, but there's probably gators somewhere in the river...so I would swim/water ski at your own risk. I'm pretty sure jet skis are fine though.
