You can not blame Racetrac for following the law. In fact for that they should be commended. I am surprised that you did not know this or ask them to explain it to you. If I was picking up something for someone I would get the money up front so that I would not be out any money in the first place and maybe from now on you should either do that or stop running errands for people. If they want to buy something they should pay up front. It sounds like you need to be smarter about how you do business
It's law. It's not race trac making the call. Why is a cab driver doing deliveries of beer and cigs any way? Doing it for under age kids?
Basically, it's a federal law. Have to exchange before walking out the store. Once outside, all sales are final. No returns on cigs and alcohol.
