You bring your dog for an "interview" and then a 4+ hour trial. They introduce your pet slowly to the population depending on his temperament. I was worried about my dog as he can be skittish, but he did great. We even boarded him for a couple of nights.
My wife and I were also hesitant to drop our dog off and leave her at a totally new place. The main thing that we both liked, is that there is always someone walking around, checking on the dogs. The comfort of being able to check the cameras at any time was very reassuring. Before we knew it, our dog had made a new best friend. I hope this helps!
Kristen is correct. If a dog is aggressive to other dogs or handlers during the interview, the owner is referred to another facility.
I believe the dogs have a behavioral assessment. If they are aggressive they won't be allowed in the general population.
