Hi Nicholas! We don’t put time limits on the adoptable pets on our care. They can be with us weeks or months while they wait for new homes. Generally speaking, most puppies are adopted just hours after becoming available for adoption.
The owner of the SPCA for Monterey County has posted an answer to this question. While that answer may be truthful, it ican be very misleading. At minimum, it covers up the grim reality - about 50% of animals who enter shelters do not make it out alive. Failing just one part of the adoption screening tests makes them non adoptable. Non adotables are killed.
