Teach kitty w negative reinforcement like a consistent loud noise. Try shaking an empty water bottle w a few coins or pebbles in it, backed up with a loud, "NO!" A squirt gun or spray bottle also works very well. It's only water and doesn't hurt. I have trained cats off kitchen counters, tables & out of houseplants forever this way. Coffee table too. And my dogs do not get on beds or couches. Another tip is aluminum foil- animals do not like stepping on it. Kitty will learn quickly; soon the sight and sound of the spray bottle will make her get down. Obviously don't leave food on counters and cover the butter dish!

Two things I have used are press and seal with the edges folded under so the sticky side is up and same procedure with duct tape. Remember to NEVER use your hands or use the name of the kitty, you do not want to make them associate either one with discipline or harshness.
