I am considering, buying a pick up truck and then a camper unit to be mounted in the bed...The camper would be used by two adults...What size bed would be best suited for our needs ? Should the p/u be a 1/2 or 3/4 ton ??

I would only consider a 1 ton diesel dully with a 8 foot bed.

I am a Tech at Wilkins RV and I would highly suggest a 3/4 ton. truck campers are substantial in weight and would put too much stress on a 1/2 ton suspension
