What do you mean held? Like held captive? They can't give information about him because of HIPPA laws. It's illegal to give information out about a client if he hasn't signed a release to talk to you
Unfortunately if you're not family and he has not reached out to you directly it doesn't seem there is much that you can do :( You might try reaching out to the Department of Health? I don't know that you should be worried about him I'm very familiar with Johnson County mental health and I cannot see them holding somebody against their will like that...
He has no family and I'm concerned. What person or firm that is above them to find out info? I'm the only close friend, he is 63 as I am. We went to school together, I know he would sign a release. He was having health issues and I called them. He had two splints put in his arteries, they know and thanked me for my concerns. I know he has money and I believe he is being suck dry. He has been in there for a month.
