An a la carte order has 2 pieces of nigiri and a sashimi order usually has 3 pieces per order (depends on the type of fish). If you would like a sampling of different types of nigiri, I would order the sushi dinner. If you are interested in sashimi with a variety, I would recommend the sashimi dinner.
It varies, but a typical order has about 6. They are flexible with orders and are happy to add or subtract and tailor your order as you prefer.
