Im pretty sure you can. You only need some form of identification. I could be wrong though. I do know you only need picture ID to shoot. Im often told "it can even be a shool ID." Rentals are cheap. Ammo can be a little spendy. But worth it, definitely, if you're not sure if you want to buy a gun.
