Exactly right! They need to be investigated!! From 180, to 280, to 595 them 280 something?!!!! Especially when nothing is used differently each month! Its crazy! And the only explanation I got was, "well it had been cold......." uh really!! This happens every year around Christmas and a few months after... SMH!!

I reported them to the BBC but I think there is something more that can be done. Some people's bills are more than their rent or mortgage. Something isnt adding up.

Facts I just moved into this place not to long ago. My first bill was 2 something then the new bill came out to almost 760.00. There is no way in hell that much electricity and water being used when my kids and I be gone half the day through out the week. We gone to have to start burning candles because I can't afford that. They don't care to figure it out as long as they checks look right. It's sad for this company to get over on people. I have kids with bad asthma and allergies now my lights going to be off. Sad time to be a single parent of three dealing with Orangeburg Department of Public Utility.

My bill is usually 3 hundred a month the past 5 months its been $500 - $650 a month. WTH I'm suppose to do about rent when all I received is ssi. I hope that someone gets to the bottom of this and dpu have to reimburse all the customers. also chargring ppl every month for service even on the water. Every month my water is near a hundred bucks. I sure do miss school electric and gas.

I work 10 hour days and my bill be 300 bucks like I'm home all day with all the lights on.

If you look on your bill you will see 2 different charges. 1 is DOPU that says small general service. Under that you will see a supply charge. Whice is SCE&G that's where DOPU gets our electric from. On my bill for DOPU was $94. And for SCE&G was $343. We all are paying for that nuke plant. Which sucks that we have to pay for CEO's $10,000 each in bonuses.

Yes, someone really need to investigate. Our bill has went up continuously since the new year. Service charge went from $20 at beginning of year to $76 this month.

I wonder if there is a water leak; in the home that you are gradually repairing as you transfer residency, in one year you were there perhaps one month total of about $40. Prr month, plus charged over $425.00 additional due to the leaks. No adjustment granted...a rusty pad lock was put on the meter, until $200.00 in cash was given to get it off!

Lowest prices in the whole state. Turn something off if your bill is high.
