I would like to start Scott's 4 step lawn program. From reading Scott's web site, I need to start with step 2 at this time. I have a 1/2 acre lot which is 15,000 to 20,000 sq. ft., can you tell me how much I will need and at what might be my cost?Thx

If you are ready to tackle step #2 of the Scott's plan (weed control plus lawn food), you can apply it anytime between now and June, provided it has been at least a month since you put down your Step 1 (crabgrass prevention/lawn food). Personally, I wouldn't wait til the temperatures get scorching, as the fertilizer may burn your lawn. We carry the Scott's Turf Builder Weed & Feed, which is the same formulation as Scott's Step 2, just labeled "Step 2" to simplify the process. They both have a 28-0-3 ratio. Each bag covers app. 15,000 sq ft, and retails for $54.99, so you may be able to get by with one bag. If your lot is a full .5 acre, 2 bags would be necessary for optimal coverage. Shipment due in Friday. Another option is Carpet Maker by Southern States, a 28-0-4 formulation weed and feed. I use this professionally in my landscaping biz and in my own yard with excellent results. It's $42.99 for same size bag, and is also due in on Friday. ?s Call me @ 294-1022, -Kevin
