They are timed. However that can cause people to rush and forget common courtisies. Most all the clerks ask if I found everything ok. If I didn't, I ask where something is and they help me. So I have not had anyone rude to me at Aldi's. I like this very 'basic' store. It suits me to a tee!

I've seen that happen, but only when people show up 3 minutes before closing.
