I know my sister had to have his birth certificate not sure about a school I'd when a little older but he has a passport too dad's from Jamaica
I had to provide a birth certificate for my two year old, because he was tall for his age and looked older. Other than that one time, I've never had to provide the airport or any airline with my children's birth certificate when traveling within the US states.
Check the TSA website and the airline policy. Mine did not and we flew on Southwest
Not for US travel if accompanied by parent.
