Mat-Su Borough Solid Waste | Sep 12, 2018

Hello Linda, yes, as of July 2, 2018, the Hazardous Waste Facility accepts up to five (5) 12-volt automobile batteries for free, per day, from Mat-Su Borough residents. Fees apply for additional 12-volt automobile batteries and all 24-volt automobile batteries. Prices are subject to change each fiscal year. To get to the Hazardous Waste Facility, drive down N. 49th State Street (towards the landfill), take a RIGHT at the stop sign and an immediate LEFT into the gated parking lot. Follow signs around building and look for crate that is labeled for batteries.
