If you get there when they first open is the best chance to hit all the rides before the lines get long, fast pass is a great option but use them when you need them. It's all about memories and family.
Just be frugal in how you spend. The lines are usually long try to fastpass them but remember it's about family and memories.
Long wait times, lots of people, spend lots of money, but if you have kids who enjoy fantasy and adventure, worth every minute.
Relax and enjoy yourself. Fastpass a couple of rides/shows so you don't miss out, then walk around and enjoy.
Right now, the park with the least to see is DHS, since there is tons of construction going on....basically the 3 main attractions are Rock'n'Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, and Toy Story Mania. Of course, you have the Beauty and the Beast show and Fantasmic. Personally, I'd wait on visiting this particular park and save it for a future visit....probably 2019, or at least till Summer 2018.
There are a few thrilling rides like Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller coaster that are a lot of fun. It being Hollywood studios they also have a lot of shows to see and two (soon to be 3) different firework/light shows at night that are really impressive. There are a lot of entertaining shows and attractions to see so be sure to plan around all the times that are listed in the My Disney Experience app. Oh and try out the Prime Time Diner if you can... it's so immersive in the 50s and the waiters are hilarious.
