Isn't it proper protocol for the DMV to ask for proof of insurance when registering a vehicle? Does California not require this? This is a huge problem with all the uninsured motorist on the roads.

wrong. the HUGE problem is the SCAM called "driver's insurance"...the whole driver's license thing is a scam too, i mean, under what rock are they living to claim thag driving is a "privilege". utter nonsense. and if u think about it, if u crash and cause damage, u should LOSE YOUR FREEDOM...in other words, the ONLY crimes ought to be when someone or their valuables are ACTUALLY harmed. no more dui, nor insurance, unless they are reformed to reflect the individual's payment vs claim history. for example, let's say i have paid an average of $500/year to insure my vehicle. over the 20 years i have driven, i have thus paid $10,000 into the coffer. i also have made 0 (ZERO) claims during that time. under a non-currupt, people-first free-society of autonomous self-government, i would now be given a significant discount on my insurance. the way the system is currently crowprit mafia warlords rig the game, take your money and freedom, all so morons like u can feel Safe.
