What is the best campsite with lots of shade for my dog most of the day?

I simply want to pitch a tent overnight for one day. Is it really gunna be almost $300 for a night. Im finding no info about overnight permits and that I have to reserve. Does anyone know roughly the prices or am I just not looking into it ?
