Been planning this trip for a while and it did not disappoint. Pros: beautiful area. Lots of wildlife, we saw wild turkeys and heard frogs and owls at night. Plenty of space in each site and the sites are spread out so you don't feel like you're on top of each other with your campsite neighbors. Lively enough but people are generally respectful of being quiet late at night. Dog friendly! Has picnic table, fire pit, bench, bbq and plenty of shade trees. Very close to things to do such as the beach, Solvang etc, camp hosts were friendly and made sure to clean each site between guests. Cons: biggest complaint I have is that the restrooms were closed and the only available toilets were porta pottys. I know that's a covid thing but the porta pottys were absolutely rancid. I had to cover my face to keep the smell down and still physically gagged. No toilet paper either. Another thing and it's not really the campgrounds fault but it was a huge shock in temperature from the beach to the campsite. If I had to guess I'd say 20 degrees more hot. We set up the tent quickly and went back to the beach until evening. So just be aware. Keep in mind there's lots of poison oak to avoid and no cell reception. Not a big deal but just so you know.

Do yourself a favor and skip this place and area completely. Plan ahead and visit French Camp campground in Bishop/Mammoth area. Find it in recreation.gov. You will not be disappointed. Rock Creek runs through this site. You can hear it at night. It is near all the wonderful lakes and awesome trails. Thank me later!! ;)

Super nice campground. No much around to see or do but very relaxing. The only downside its one spot for 1 car.

Cachuma lake isn't far, and when open, Red Rock is a nice watering hole.
