If you sit there and wait for a spot to open on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday morning, & one opens, can you save it with your tent or vehicle, or do you need to save it with your RV? Basically, what saves that spot?

Scruples are that if you are holding a site without camping in it you are denying real campers a spot. So the question becomes about really camping versus having scruples.

Simple, drive thru and find a spot. Park in it, pitch a small tent. Pay for it with cash or check and put paper on tent. Come back when ready to camp. Note, keep a tent in your trunk.

Must pay first. Someone could book the spit you are sitting in. Call Ventura County Parks.
