Your better off making the reservation and calling to confirm like a day or so before.
As long as no holidays or parties. Not needed. They are pretty efficient.

It gets crowded depending on when you go. Earlier is better, it's not a big place.
Would recommend a reservation but we showed up w a party of 4 on a Saturday evening and they had no record of our reservation but seated us anyway in under 5 minutes 😁
