Yes, it is free! We made sure to shop at the beautiful gift shop. All of the proceeds help to support the museum. There are donation boxes as well.

Yes it's free. There are free will donation boxes at both entrances, but that is entirely optional. The only cost is for a Planetarium show and that cost is pretty cheap.
