You can ask them if they can use your cart. They do everytime I ask.
You need to take the items out anyway to be scanned. It's a smoother process to scan the items then put them in a cart than wait for you to completely empty your cart before they can start scanning and moving the items. Keep in mind there's no swell on the conveyer belt like Uther grocery stores. There's no place for the items to go after it's been scanned. It's a better flow the way it is now. I'm sure if you have issues lifting the cashier will be more than happy to help you, if you ask nicely.
I am kind of getting what you're saying unfortunately call it a bad time to answer this question but I must say the checkout person asks you for your cart based on the fact that they're giving you somebody else's car and in addition when you will your groceries to your car you bring back the car and get your $0.25 back as for me I bring my bags or I check out if they have free boxes they have bags there for sale for 99 cent I don't know if I'm answering your question logically due to the fact that the last day and a half has been very difficult for me it was the anniversary of my Matthew death it has only been one year and now I have a sick dog on my shoulders quite frankly when I go to Aldi's I pay for a car I go in I shop I pay my husband bags everything so I guess I'm lucky that way but to be honest with you I think there's no better process they've cut out so many middle man the carts are always returned they're always in good shape they don't need to have a Bag Boy they don't need
