The lawn is not completely flat. There is a slight slope and at the back there is an embankment. I was in the pit so I don't know it if was muddy, but it didn't appear to be. There is grass covering the lawn.
As Derek said, it's not flat. Obviously the previous days and hours play a factor in the moisture content of the substrate, but there is grass on the lawn.
