When is Michael's going to prohibit backpacks in their stores? I saw an individual take a ladies small wristlet purse, walk behind aisles, then left with girlfriend. No purchase. Mentioned to cashier about security camera. She did not seem interested

I used to work for Michael's Crafts in Woodland CA. This was an ongoing issue. Unfortunately, if you prohibit backpacks, then you also must prohibit purses. We were allowed to follow customers at a distance and ask numerous times if they "needed help with anything " but we were NOT ALLOWED to confront them with accusations of shoplifting. It's such a grey area. Tough for certain to watch, as a moral, hard working customer and as an employee.
