How old would you have to be to work at an animal shelter because I would love to help take care of the precious animals without homes.

I know they accept volunteers ages 10 to 15, but only if accompanied by an adult over the age of 18. I'm not sure about hiring, but I'd guess 16 is the minimum. They have requirements for working directly with animals, such as the ability to lift 75 pounds and properly handle less than well mannered animals. It is HARD work and sometimes heartbreaking.
