Keep an eye on the website for packages. They often have four and five day ticket and resort packages which will save a lot of money. Which resort you want depends on your party size and budget. I absolutely love Pop Century, All Star Movies, and the Swan and Dolphin. As far as pricing goes, these are not as expensive and often have special pricing. Swan and Dolphin is more elegant and classic. POP century and All Star have great theming and pools.
We just sleep in the room. We belong to the vacation club and use this as small getaways for 2 to 3 days.
It depends if you are in the parks all day and you just want the room to sleep and shower then go for the all stars resorts If you want to stay in hotel more then go to the medium priced ones
If you are a Florida resident you can get up to a 4 day ticket. For the resort it all depends what you are looking for and how much you want to spend. Just saw some of the rooms at Riviera and they were nice. From there you can take the gondola to Epcot or Hollywood studios which is nice.
