Disney is not a necessity, you don't have to go.
DISNEY IS WORTH IT IF YOU CAN GO FOR A WEEK. STAY IN THE ECONOMY RESORT.I ALWAYS WANTED TO GO AS A CHILD AND MY DAD SAID NO MONEY DONT GROW ON TREES,I LOOKED UP THE COST LESS THAN 5.00 PERSON. I TAKE MY CHILDREN AND NOW MY GRANDCHILDREN. I STAY IN THE ECONOMY LIKE MUSIC OR MOVIES. Ride the skyline to the park.YOU CAN BRING FOODIN THE ROOMS. THE PARKS HAVE SO MUCH TO OFFER.RIDES ,SHOWS,STORES,PARADES,SPLASH PADS,FERRTY,TRAMS,TASTE,FOODS FROM AROUND THE WORLD. MEET THE MOUSE AND HIS FRIENDS THAT YOU WATCH ON TV,WALK THROUGH THE HOMES LIKE PETER PANS HOUSE EXPERIENCE THE THRILL AND LET YOUR CHILD MEMORIES COME TO LIFE, TRAVEL THROUGH A SMALL WORLD,OR PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN. THE NEXT DAY YOU RELAX AT THE POOLSIDE,SIT IN THE JACUZZI, HAVE DRINK OR LUNCH BY THE POOLSIDE.WONDERFULL LIFEGUARDS ALWAYS WATCHING THE PEOPLE IN THE POOL,COORDINATORS AT POOL SIDE FOR THE CHILDREN.VERY WORTH THE MONEY.
Disney TimeShare is the way to go!! The only regret I have is I should of done it sooner!!
The experience is enhanced, for those that can afford the four star hotels, the perks come with here you stay. Disney is very expensive, but its worth the $$$.

If you want to put a price on happiness then of course don't stay on resort. But..... the perks far out weigh the cost saving. FREE transportation to the parks. Don't have to pay for parking, relax and ride the Disney transportation ( Bus, boat, monorail or the sky liner.) Your coming to Disney to enjoy yourself...do you want to put a price on that?
I concur with staying on property and staying at a moderate resort like carrabian beach!
Honestly, stay at the Marriott World Center. It is an exceptional hotel, Waterpark, some I under construction, and shuttle service to Disney parks. Under 200 a night. Was like 160 or something
Is worth it for you kids they will have the best experience
We recently went to the Caribbean Beach resort which is rated as an economy Resort but we found it to be great. Also if you have a Prime Membership having groceries delivered to the hotel with Amazon Fresh was a huge money saver.
If you mean why stay with Disney in general because of rising prices, I'd remind you that Disney knows what they have - which is the main corner in the nostalgia market and a standard people have grown up hearing about. They raise their prices because they can. Stay for the memories, the magic, and the fun times but you'll have to accept the price jumps too
I found the nice thing about staying even with the costs is that transportation to the parks was included. It beat navigating traffic ourselves and paying a few hundred a day for park prices for 4 people. When you stay in the resorts and plan the parks they include it slightly discounted into the price so as much as it was with how many we had they were included. Which resort you choose also adds or decreases cost, some of the resorts are a little fancier and cost more, so pricing depends on the resort you would choose.
