Also, if you're trying to get reservations through the WDW site, you won't get one easily bc the restaurant doesn't release all of their tables. If you direct call the restaurant, they will almost always have something available, but it won't show up on your My Disney app.

When we went there we just put our name on the wait list, plenty to do around there until your table is ready

Sure, you can walk into the restaurant and just have a look around, get a few pics and leave. I am sure you can just put your name in the wait list once your there to try to get a table
Absolutely but you would be sorely disappointed. You are better off going to Dinosaur World just 30 mins away which is just fantastic!
They do have walkins too. If you join Landry's rewards, you can get priority seating as a walkin
