I believe any license that expired after the state of emergency was initiated was going to get an automatic extension. You have two options: 1) go to the DMV.ca.gov website and ask your question through a chat option. -you can also check if you can renew online 2) if you can't renew online or do not benefit from the extension waiver and you are required to show up at DMV in person, you will have to be at the DMV the latest 6 AM ( they open at 8 am) People line up from 5 am.
