I'm unemployed I have my birth certificate my social security card and my high school transcript but no photo identification card can I still apply for jobs or enroll in programs until I can obtain a id I have no financial resources

Hi Shari, Yes you can still apply for jobs and take advantage of programs. offered through our career center. Come to one of our Welcome Meetings to get started using our services. The schedule is here: https://masshirespringfield.org/home/events/ If you are 17-years-old or younger our YouthWorks program is a great place to start. Call 413-858-2800 and ask for Phylis to make an appointment. As an FYI, once you receive a job offer you will have to prove you have the legal right to work in the United States before your start work. This site explains what documents or combination of documents businesses are allowed to accept. https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/acceptable-documents/list-documents/form-i-9-acceptable-documents A photo ID may be needed for you to start work. You now need proof of citizenship. I believe the state of Mass offers a photo id . You'll have to see if they will do it at a discount. Mass registry

You can apply for jobs via MassHire and Springfield Public library without a ID. Only problem would be when your hired somewhere your id would be required.
