How about silver sneakers or golden slippers ? Joseph Janey did you mean my MEDICARE CARD ? my UNITED HEALTHCARE is my STATE Retirement coverage
Just bring in your card when you want to join and your insurance should pay for your membership
FIirst determine if your insurance covers your membership or you can call the Y and they canprobably tell you.Thenyoujust need to fillout alittle bit of paperwork anyou are set to go.Along with your membership a trainer will go through the equipment with you and you can pay to have one of them work with you or be on your own from there
I have United Healthcare as a supplement and they do not pay for the Y that will be on you.
It's amazing how going for a brisk walk can improve your overall health....just be sure to drink enough water
Go to the YMCA. Someone at the front desk will be happy to help you through the enrollment process. There are numerous classes for seniors and instructions cater to all levels of healthful activity. You will be able to find something you enjoy and meet new people who are like-minded.
I've noticed a lot of older people swim...low impact. Take lessons if you need them but get swimming great way to meet people and you can do this into your 80's!!
Check to see if United Healthcare will cover your YMCA membership. If they do there are many, many things for seniors to do there. You need to go talk to them. I have been doing it for years. Love it.
