It's a highly conservative town. If you notice the whole town has maybe 1 mile of sidewalks all concentrated around the former mall. And Route 9 has narrower shoulders than in Colonie. They have no town services and rely on state and county police. Yet ironically the property taxes are pretty much as high as Colonie which provides far superior services. Essentially the town is closed minded in this regard and it shows. The Burger King on 9 and 146 was hiring last year at 13.50 an hour bc without public transportation no willing employees can get to work there. Ironic for a voting block that doesn't want a minimum wage, and certainly not an increase like the one that just occurred. And, as a final point, all the fast food and fast casual restaurants in town are the worst in the whole area. Lazy, entitled kids who resent the jobs tend not to do those jobs well.
My personal opinion is because, here they think they are rich in private transportation and for me it is not like that.
