If you have a Church near by home you can go to the Rectory and ask about the programs or classes for the First communion. and as well for the Baptism!. It takes some time and the results are wonderful because you and family will get to know The Lord and the fait!. It is for the family not just for him. and it is worth the time invested. to get closer to the Lord!
When your son tells you that he wants to have a relationship with Jesus and is born again...believing in his heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessing Him as his Lord and Savior then the public baptism as an outward confession of his inward faith...this is something that he will have to be ready for after his own personal revelation of Jesus.
