I work here at the landfill. We do take jacuzzi/ hot tubs. However you like to bring them. An load brought should be tarped, if not there is an extra fee.
I don't know about taking hot tubes whole, I cut mine up in smaller sections for easier handling since I dumped it myself. Tarping, I'm not sure it's mandatory, I suppose if you have items that would blow away as you are driving, it would be a good idea to cover it, CHP might give you a ticket.
