Hi Julie! Thanks for inquiring about swimming. The lake that is close to us is an environmental lake therefore weedy with Lilly pads and so on. We don't have anything for lake swimming to offer, but the city beach is just three miles away.
There are many lakes suitable for children to play in, but not the one closest to the campground. That lake is great for scenic viewing, kayaking, etc. My favorite for swimming was just aprx 5 miles away, Sauer Lake, but the city beach is another good choice and that one has a great place to get food too, Zorba's.
