I’ve got a 2000 ranger and I’ve lost the only key with the chip in it. I have a flat key as a spare to just unlock the door. How much will it cost to have another key made?

Few years ago I checked into a new chipped key for a 2004 F150 and was quoted $85.00. I did have a spare key and that makes it easier (and less expensive) to program a new key. W/O a spare chipped key the price is more like $150.00 and Probably would require you going to a dealership.

I'm not sure but I think it depends on the car .

I think depends what kind the car but in the dealer is more expensive is more chip in another key made.
