Yes. None are released without that being done. That and the shots that are given before they leave are why you have to pay a little, but then all the animal's early vet related things have been done before they go to forever homes. You will need to do any further things that they need, and I took took my new kittens to my own vet, along with the adoption/health records Parsippany Animal Shelter gave me, so they could copy them and have complete records going forward. I got my dog last year ..they won't give you the pet unless this is done.

Ask them, when we visited the adoption cost was very low compared with others, and I might recall that they don't do the surgery..
