This year they blocked driving up to the river sites, unfortunately. You can camp fairly close or you can camp over where new primitive camping is and push a boat in there by the dock. If you're only coming for day use that's fine but for camping or sleeping in the truck you need to make sure you have a reservation they're free you just have to have one.
If you call the ranger station for potts preserve you can go to the park and camp what they call Boy Scout Beach and have plenty of room 2 do games like horseshoes frisbee excetera the entrance is right on hooty point
You have to make camping reservations through Southwest Florida Water Management District.
