I have lost the audio completely on my PC. my son said I d/l a virus that won't allow him admin. rights to rid the PC of this virus. Is there anything you can do to fix this thing?

There is a free diagnostic in my shop. I would first test your unit with linux on one of my chips. If sounds works then you know for sure it is software or speakers outside if it does not then you know hardware. Also check bios to make sure it was not disable in bios. After these steps if software try to creat a new user name with admin if works sound should work malware does not disable sound.. they usually try to have you heare ads. so its most likely a simple software glitch or harware driver.

there is a way to test the audio first through a linux chip. if sound works by another method then you know it is software. If it does not then it is not a virus. a virus would not disable audio.. and most malwares want you to play audio to advertise. IT is free to diagnose in my shop. I have a chip that has an OS that can check first. another way is to creat 2 administrators on the win 10 system and use one just as emergency.
