Inside the museum your options are extremely limited. But there's an enormous underground complex that houses how many types of restaurants that range from McDonald's to more elaborate sit-down meals. Course of the weather is nice there's lots of grounds outside to sit and enjoy your own food as well. Good luck and have a fun time.
There's a great NY style hot dog stand right outside the entrance. The underground concourse is linked to the museum and its a quick walk to asian food, pizza, sandwiches and the like all located in a food court arrangement. You are inside the entire time, so you are always out of the rain/snow.
Underneath the concourse there is a food court. It's very close to the museum while the museum itself has a restaurant. Within walking distance from the plaza there are food trucks near the state capital building.
There is a food court in the underground section of empire state plaza. It is a bit of a walk from the museum but u do not have ro go outside to get there. You can also bring your own lunch there are tables upstairs
I did not see any food venues open. No food or drink is allowed in the Museum. You can purchase drinks and snacks at the gift store. I suggest you bring your food with you and have a picnic on the grounds. Enjoy
