I'm assuming the reason we waited for half an hour to be seated, even though I could that over half the restaurant was empty, was because there wasn't enough wait staff? The hostess was extremely rude as well.

That's a sad reality. I have expetience the same from time to time at many other establishments.My experience was a little different. It was rather pleasant considering it was a holiday weekend.
