I just got a 27.5 mtb 1x10 that came stock with 28t / 11-42.
I bumped up to a 30t chainring but am looking for a more narrow cassette and maybe go up to a 32t chainring too.
What are others using for gearing - chainring and cassette at Econ?

30 t will work just fine that's what i have and use at little big econ

I would stick with the 30t chaining. There can be soft spots and you might want to keep the lower gearing. your cassette should be fine it's mostly flat only a couple of very small quick climbs.
