Calling ahead is optional, but I feel it is worth the call because you never know when big parties may appear and delay you from getting seated.

Calling ahead is optional. We rarely call ahead. I cant remember ever waiting for more than 10 minutes. The trick is eat before 6 or 7 pm which is peak time for crowds.
