There are hotels in calabasas and woodland hills on the north side. There are hotels in santa monica on the south side. Both are a good 15-20 min away.
There are some nice Airbnb in Topanga, also try hotels in Santa Monica.
The Inn of the seventh Ray is pretty close to dead center between the valley side and the ocean side. There are many places in Calabasas in the valley or Santa Monica depending on your personal preferences. Have a good time!

What kind of experience do you want do you want to be in dense City Beach town or do you want to be more in suburbs that's question also yes many airbnb's. Guess it depends on what else you're going to do.
