We just picked up a white twill Newport sectional and it didn't come with any guidance regarding the use of scotchgard. We sprayed it and we didn't experience any adverse effects. I guess it depends on the fabric as someone just mentioned.
Check the tags..someadvise to NOT use scotch guard as it ruins the fabric.
