How important is it to replace the front 3 gear pant leg plastic guard on the pedal spline? It broke when I crashed and I took the broken pieces off. Should I replace it? It's a 24"-

Not important at all if not riding with loose long pants or if using pant clips or straps. You just really don't want to get your pants caught or you will crash.
