It does not state that a library card is needed on the website, it does state that sessions on the computer last 60 minutes and you can use up to two sessions in a row. I did not notice anyone fumbling for a library card last time I was there. https://www.franklinma.gov/franklin-public-library/pages/library-policies-services
You do not need a library card to use the computers. Directions are posted next to every computer - basically type any numbers and you're good. The vast majority of Massachusetts residents can get a Franklin card free of additional charges (that is, it's covered by your taxes). Only replacement cards cost money. You can pick either a keychain sized card, or a wallet sized card when you get a card (not both). To get a card, bring a photo ID plus proof of address (a Massachusetts license is sufficient). If you do not live in Franklin and aren't sure if your town is accredited/one that the Franklin library accepts, either call or email the director or assistant director (info on the library website). As a general rule of thumb, if your town has a library, you should be able to become a Franklin patron free of charge.
