It depends. If you're just hiking there are some small lots, dirt, gravel, that you can find. A couple on Rt. 16. If you go to the main entrance, there will be a fee for parking during the season. You can Google it for more details.
There are multiple entrances for hiking trails with no fees but to go to the lakeside park there is a charge summer season only.
I have never paid. If you don't want the beach, no need to pay. There are plenty of places to park at the various places where the trails Cross the road.
Place they have place for swimming playing volleyball fishing you have fireplaces deal with what you can Barbecue on but get there early yes and they do charge to get in
