I go early in the morning or later in the evening. Don't go on the weekends. Dogs who haven't had any exercise all week are there and csn be wild, if your dog isn't used to how to handle that, it can be a problem
Around 11am & 130pm Weekdays, Saturdays are packed as are Sundays from around 1030am onwards. Ita a huge park though, with limited parking, so you neve quite feel over-run. Good place to socialize dogs.
Before 11 is best weekdays for you pet, then there is another slower spot before people are out of work, about 2:15. Weekends are full by my standards. Another quieter spot at next light east, go south. Leash requirements are a little loose there.
If it is during week, the best time with fewer dogs would be before owners got home from work. Saturday is busy but it is a big park with plenty of room to run. All fenced so dogs can't get out. After a hard rain, there are lots of puddles which the dogs love but some owners don't. Hose as you walk out to rinse them off.
Early morning Monday to Friday weekends are very busy
I've only been on Sunday mornings, and it's very busy by 11 a.m. I wouldn't go that day. There is a part off to the left after you enter the park through the double gates that is enclosed with only one entrance/exit. If you want to let your dog off leash in a controlled closed area that is the spot. The park is huge, and people and their dogs are all over the open park.
It's pretty random I live across the street so I go over there often I would probably say mornings sometime before 11 but it's really not busy busy busy all the time. But I wouldn't recommend sundays it's pretty crowded
Best to go early in the morning . Try to stay away after 5 pm and weekends if possible. Many of the dogs on the weekends and after 5pm are the part time couch dogs who do not know how to act. I have been bitten twice and almost bitten twice more. My dog who is 29 pounds was attacked many times but he is resiliant and keeps going. Some people carry mace and I met one guy who keeps a tazer. I keep my leash case in my hand just in case. I suspect many peoples dogs have no shots or no papers as I never see any tags. If you dont mind all that its ok!!
Mid day when it's crazy hot it's not very busy at all. Plenty of shade and water spots. Just set them free and dont let them know you are nervous. It worked for me.
